Electronic News – DEKRA Hochschule für Medien
Electronic News is an interdisciplinary and intercultural project on new media education, created together with DEKRA Hochschule für Medien in Berlin, the Academy of Art in Szczecin, and the University of Szczecin. This cooperation between students and lecturers have resulted in daily coverage of Szczecin European Film Festival ‘17, interviews, mini-reportages, and reviews published as a live blog ran by professionals. The young people participating in this project also take part in discussions on the place of new media in today’s world, they learn new methods of working as journalists in online press, and co-organise talks with filmmakers. The film festival thus becomes a “practical cultural laboratory.” The project’s international formula, encompassing participants from Poland and Germany and in conjunction with the high diversity of topics touched upon, is the perfect basis for shaping intercultural dialogue.
DEKRA Hochschule für Medien is a private university of applied sciences, offering Bachelor programmes in Media Management, Journalism and Television, and Film Studies. The university is open to creative, young people who are willing to show commitment and enjoy studying in a vibrant atmosphere. We are really happy and pleased to be in Szczecin again with a new group of young students. It was a great experience for previous years' teams and it’s going to be a great time with lots of work and fun!
